The oatmeal is NOT vegan. They boil it in milk. I asked them yesterday.

I had the same experience. Waitress said it’s premade with milk.

Most oatmeal is processed with whey anyway which is a milk byproduct. I also saw oatmeal on the IHOP menu and honey roasted something or other on one of these menus. This seems like a site that’s trying to do something nice but just not thorough enough.

No, most oatmeal is made with water much cheaper. At least in my area it is almost always made with water, possibly with a tiny amount of milk on the side or drizzled on top. I’ve asked before at Dennys, IHOP etc etc and they have made it for me with water.

I always get 5 sweet potatoes with NO BUTTER. The skin is still on so I just peel it off and mash. 🙂

I asked the waitress at Cracker Barrel today and she said that the oatmeal comes prepackaged and it DOES contain milk. She said they can’t prepare it with water.

Our Cracker Barrel said the same thing. The oatmeal contains milk and can not be prepared without it.

Most juices are not vegan so I’m surprised to see all these Florida juices listed.

Their vegetable soup I believe is vegan, and I’m not sure but last time I was there I asked for a side of mixted veggies and I thought I tasted butter. Keep an eye out.

I just asked how their baked potato is made and they put butter on the outside. Then I asked if I could get it without butter but they are prepped that way. So- I don’t think getting a baked potato is a reliable choice at a Cracker Barrel. Living in the south, Cracker Barrel really needs to offer a better variety of choices.

Thank you Amy! I called our local Cracker Barrel to double check about the baked potatoes. You’re right, they’re not vegan and they can’t change that for you because they are already prepped, rubbed with LARD, before they bake them. Yeesh. It is a shame – they could have so many options if they just put in a little bit of effort.

The oatmeal is cooked with milk. Toast and fruit cup is pretty much the only vegan option for breakfast.
